Every piece of wood tells a story
Within every piece of wood lie the rings of annual growth. We normal see wood from trees whose lives have been steady and consistent. But trees which have experienced more wood from trees -- drought, fire, wind damage, insects, fungus infections, etc. -- will often possess special character. These are the pieces of wood which often produce the art of Tree Turnings.

Tree Turnings are uniquely produced from trees damaged by natural disaster, diseases, or have been removed for development. Envisioned while still within the log, each wood piece is then turned on a lathe and re-created into an attractive bowl or vesse

What is wood turnings?
Woodturning is the craft of shaping wood with tools while the wood is being spun at high speeds. Turning wood dates back to the ancient Egyptians. The early modern lathe was the offspring of the hand or foot powered lathes used in Europe in the fifteenth century.
